Work Experience
Contractor - Quinstreet.com -
Apr 2003 to Sept
2003 - On
contract with Globalyst.com Localizing web based
Internet commerce application to Italian language. Internationalize and edit
images with Macromedia's Firework. Verifying and making translations.
Localize the Java script content and the web development tool designed by
Quinstreet.com. Make SQA tests and report defects on web based applications
and the web development tool. Debug html code. Sr. Software Engineer - Hewlett Packard - Oct
2000 to October 2002 - On Contract with USCaden Develop QA Automation,
execute and design QA tests on internationalized version of ISPs (Internet
Service Provides) and third party thin client software. Linguistic
Support for Italian, French and Spanish. Test Dutch, French, Italian,
German, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Spanish and Swedish applications in
their respective OS in a VMware environment. Develop tests cases and do Multimedia
testing for US and international versions. Troubleshoot applications
malfunctions and write detailed test reports
Major achievement Identification
of severe defects that where undetected by the ISP QA teams. These tests
revealed opportunities to enhance the products. Approximately 4000 work-hours
were saved by proving that automating the QA for this process was uneconomical
and would increase department expenses
Sr. Software Engineer – Siebel eBusiness - Oct
97 to Apr 00 Develop software QA tools
in visual basic to test eBusiness applications.
Write test scripts using Visual Test and WinRunner for Thick Client and Active
X applications. Troubleshoot servers, database engine and applications
failures. Run QA test on the localized version of the application.
Major achievement: Develop the Scenario Test
Generator. That tool serves to make and repeat tests and to create and run
test scripts. This program significantly improved the productivity of the QA
department.
Sr. Software Engineer – Impact Systems Los Gatos – Feb 97 to Aug 97
Man-Machine
interface design on Windows NT platforms. Programming
in Visual Basic and embedded SQL. Creating Excel, Wonderware and Crystal Reports interfaces. Solve
network connectivity interference. Design Relational databases with MS
Access. Localize Man-Machine interfaces to Spanish language.
Major achievement: This Man-Machine interface became
the control system model for future applications, thereby eliminating the
time and expense needed to design new interfaces
Other Experience
Sr. SW.
Eng. Contractor 1991-1996 at Quintus, MultiGen, Harris GCS Division , Lockheed Martin Missile
& Space, Network General , Cirrus Logic, Davy International, Bay
Financial, General Electric, Dryers Ice Cream, ACWD and Olin Mesa

Bechtel Corporation.
Other
Achievements
·
Proposed and specified
the design of fault tolerant Distributed Control System to handle the
computerized control system of a geothermal power plant.
·
Designed
an application specific simulator to test a PLC program that was to control
in real time a mining facility. This simulator
saved thousands of work-hours and possible equipment damages if the program
had to be tested and debugged at the mining plant.
·
Wrote
a dBase program that can update a two million record database automatically.
The database was located on a mainframe. The program tested for data
integrity verification and generated customized reports. This program reduced
from 40 work-hours to four work-hours the time needed to search and update
the database
·
Developed dBase programs
for automatic updates of engineering management information systems
·
Wrote hardware/software
system specifications for multiplexing systems
·
Designed electronic circuit logic diagram,
did the schematic capture and run the simulation using CASE tools running on
an Apollo workstation. Conducted failure analysis and made reliability
calculations for control systems. Solved Quality Assurance technical issues
at nuclear power plant sites
·
Design a control panel
and SCADA for IC equipment manufacturing
·
Found a way to program
the PLC so it could reprogram the control logic without the need to modify a
single line of code. This solution cuts down the software maintenance work
that will be done
·
Discovered a method to
internationalize C++ dynamically created VB applications
·
Wrote a multinational
program that can switch its GUI to seven European languages and to Japanese Education: Bachelors of Science in
Engineering – San Francisco State University Computer Science courses at
West Valley College (earned 60 semester units). California
State EIT Certification. Certificate in Technical Writing & Publications. ATRIA Certification, Tech
writing & Publication certificates Completed four semesters of
